- First layer your sliced oranges to cover the base of your slow cooker. Sprinkle with half a teaspoon of thyme. Then layer your sliced red onions and sprinkle with the rest of the thyme. Finally, layer your Chorizo on the top and drizzle over a little olive oil.
- Cover and cook in the slow cooker for 6-8 hours on High.
- Equally, this dish could be made in an oven dish and just baked in the oven for 45 minutes at 180F/200C.
I have entered this recipe into the One Ingredient Challenge for January 2013. The ingredient is Oranges this month. The challenge is hosted by my friend Laura from How To Cook Good Food. Pop over to her site and check it out!
Anneli, I love the flavours you have used in your dish. Oranges and chorizo wit thyme sound so good. I just know it would taste divine and I am happy you have entered it into One Ingredient this month! xx
Thanks Laura! Happy to be a part of the challenge 🙂
I’d never thought to use orange with chorizo before but I bet it goes really well. I use chorizo a lot so I will try the combination soon. Thanks for the idea.
The combination if really good. I am a huge fan of Chorizo also and always on the look out for new ways to use it. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Anneli,
I just wanted to tell you that we made your Duck Breast with Roast Chestnuts for our Christmas Eve meal this year and it was absolutely stunning to look at and delicious to eat. A sure winner for a special meal.
Thanks for including it on your blog. Keep up the good work!!!!
